Upper Skene

When it comes to designing a home for an established area, you are going to be hit with some controversy. Style and sophistocation is important when it comes to a modern home in an eclectic sorrounds. This is my aim for the residence `Upper Skene`.

This streamline monocromatic design follows a semi-commercial feel with classic modern american architecture. The client required specific needs and all aspects of the home are primarily functional with a strong astetic appeal.

Upper Skene comprises a generious floorplan which boasts 2.5 metre front doors opening up into a entrance that widens as you travel the length of the property. As you continue, the gradual steps down increase the interior ceiling heights. This area is lined with inground 10degree light beams which will give a column light effect to the main body home.

To the right wing of the home, situated is the master retreat, with walkin double robes and a generious bathroom with double shower. There is three bedrooms and a second bathroom on the wing of this residence.

The left hand side opens up a three car garage, with workshop and 2 entries into the dwelling.

The laundry flows through to the kitchen, which then opens up to a sun drenched living area. Bifold bench to ceiling windown open up to an alfresco outdoor dining and barbeque area.

The second entry from the garage brings you past the powder room and into the central hall/ dining/ entertaining/ formal lounge with open fire. Outside, backing the fireplace is an external fireplace which faces a full length lap pool.

The interesting aspect to this project is that employed as the holistic designer, the `client` had various views on the concept and design principles. Overall, most things have followed through to marry each design principle together.  Of course, the icing on the cake or the hallmark to the design process is the finesse on a home Darren creates. Darren`s designs have been worthy of national and international publication.  At this point,  Upper Skene is a home that with the right final ingredience, will shine as a `Landmark home`.
